Red wine
Ventisquero Carmenere Reserva 2006, Chile £7.55
All but wiped out by the Pheloxera parasite in the 19th Century, Carmenere has
been plucked from near extinction to become Chile's signature grape variety.
Deep purple in colour with a ruby hue, this wine shows great seasonal flavours
of dark fruits, ground coffee and chocolate. The palate is full and flavoursome
with an added punch of pepper and spice. The perfect wine to warm you up this winter!

Mount Brown Pinot Noir 2007, New Zealand £13.45
Mount Brown is a family owned vineyard, found on the western side of the
Waipara Valley, a region renowned for premium Pinot Noir. Hand thinning
and harvesting, along with ageing in French oak barriques has produced a
well-balanced wine with intense blackberry fruit, married with nuances of
hickory barbecue smoke and hints of white pepper on the finish. An excellent
partner to lamb or venison.
